Twenty members of Kingman High Health Occupations of America Students (HOSA) recently attended a state leadership conference, and competed in various medical challenges using skills they have learned throughout the year. Winners included: Courtney Haller, 5th-place in human growth and development; Jamie Robertson, 2nd in pharmacology; Sydnie Sampson and Brittany Burgess, 2nd in CPR/first aid skills; and Hayley Owen, 1st in epidemiology. Owen (pictured) was also elected to be the Arizona State president for the 2012-2013 year. HOSA has grown to have over 4,500 student participants in Arizona, and over 100 chapters. Students placing in the top three will represent the state at a national competition in Orlando, Fla. at Disney World in June.
