Kingman Letters: It's who you know

A 10-year-old boy was walking his dog down our street on a leash. A dog across the street broke free and viciously attacked his dog. A neighbor and I had to get the dog off the boy's dog and trust me, he wasn't letting to. His dog lived, but only after major medical treatment.

After the attack, the owner's boyfriend told me when he put the dog out he noticed his collar was breaking. He put the dog out and left. He said court was April 18, but his girlfriend had a friend at Animal Control.

It is now April 24. The dog is back on his chain. "He didn't attack the boy." He was 10! I have a 4- and 6-year-old. Eye level! If he gets in my yard, Animal Control won't be called.

It's a sad state of affairs when a boy can't walk his dog on a leash without getting attacked and Animal Control saying it's OK. Shame on Animal Control. Just like the video I saw with Animal Control enticing a dog out of his yard with filet mignon so she could "throw" him in the back of her van! Appalling right? She still works there!
