Mary Ellen (Tapia) Birch, age 70, of Golden Valley, Ariz., passed away Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, with her family by her side at the Kingman Regional Medical Center after a long battle with Scleroderma.
Mary Ellen was born June 1, 1942, in Brush, Colo. She worked for Arizona Adult Protective Services in Kingman.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling and jewelry collecting. Mary Ellen was an avid Denver Bronco fan. Anything she found that had orange and blue, she went and bought it.
She is survived by her children, Richard Gutierrez and his wife Stephanie of Lowell, Ark., Leslie Holman and her husband Allen of Morrison, Colo., Ellen Sessler of Golden Valley, Ronald Gutierrez of Sheboygan, Wis., and Mary Conan and her husband Kelly of Sulphur, La.; her brothers, Kenny (Velma) Tapia of Brush, Colo., and Rudy (Elaine) Tapia of Berkley, Mass.; 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and her four Shih Tzus, Mitzi, Apollo, Waldo and Buddy.
She is preceded in death by her husband Charles E. Birch; her parents, Antonia and Otis Johnston of Brush; Marion Tapia, of Brush and other grandchildren, Kimberly Holman and Samuel Conan.
