G&F hopes witness comes forward

Arizona Game and Fish is seeking information in the suspected shooting of a mule deer.

Third party information was reported to Game and Fish that an individual witnessed someone shoot at a mule deer in Clack Canyon a couple days ago. It is believed the deer was injured and ran off. The legal hunting season for mule deer has not begun.

Operation Game Thief is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the individual or individuals responsible for this crime.

Game and Fish needs to hear from the individual(s) who witnessed the shooting in Clack Canyon, which is located behind Kingman Regional Medical Center near the water towers.

"We need to talk to that person or anyone else who may have information," said Zen Mocarski, public information officer for the Game and Fish Region 3 office in Kingman.

Mocarski said any information would be helpful, including a name, license plates, exact location, and date and time of the suspected shooting.

"Through the Game and Fish Operation Game Thief program we have managed to catch a number of poachers," Mocarski said. "It's important to remember this is not the act of sportsmen, it's the act of a criminal."
