Mr. and Mrs. Robert Combs celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, surrounded by family and friends at Redneck's Southern Pit BBQ. They met at a movie theatre when, on a dare by Barbara's cousin Milly, she poured popcorn down his back. They later married on Jan. 30, 1952, in Henderson, Ky., and raised four children who have given them six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. They moved to Kingman in 1978 after Bob retired from the city of Pasadena and Barbara from Mattel Toys in California. Bob served as chief of the Hualapai Fire Department and also volunteered with Mohave County Sheriff's Search and Rescue Posse. Barbara volunteered as the Fire Department's dispatcher as well as the Pink Ladies at Kingman Regional Medical Center. Their secret to a 60-year marriage: "a lot of give and take of one another." God bless them both.
