Kingman Chili's to host grand reopening

'Give Back' event features Sheriff's Office K9 unit

Chili's is celebrating a complete facelift of its restaurant with a "Give Back" event Wednesday that will benefit the Mohave County Sheriff's Office K9 unit.

Featured at the event will be "Radar," a new German Shepherd K9.

Chili's General Manager Patricia Jeffrey said the event will start at 3 p.m. in the east end of the neighboring Home Depot parking lot. The K9's will arrive around 3:30 p.m., with demonstrations set for 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Chili's will cut the ribbon for their grand reopening between demonstrations at 5:30 p.m. Jeffrey said the entire restaurant has been renovated, with "every table, every chair and every everything" getting an update.

One of the most anticipated changes for sports fans is the addition of five televisions to create a wall of flat screens in the bar. Those are in addition to the four televisions that were already in the bar and another four that have been added to the dining room.

Renovations were made overnight during a 21-day period at an estimated cost of around $150,000. Jeffrey thanked customers for their patience during the upgrades and invited everyone to Wednesday's event, where 10 percent of all proceeds from the day will be donated to the K9 program.

No flyer is necessary, but Jeffrey asked that customers mention the K9 program so the restaurant knows what brought them out that day.
