A federal warrant has been issued for the arrest of a 21-year-old Kingman-area man wanted on charges of stealing mail from the Hualapai contract postal station.
Nicholas Dean Miller is charged with theft and obstruction of mail after he is believed to have ripped open several parcels of mail at the station on East Thompson Avenue in what U.S. Postal Inspector Andrew Rivas called a "crime of opportunity."
Rivas said the majority of the stolen mail has been recovered and that the 20 or so affected people have already been notified by the Postal Service.
Rivas did not disclose how Miller was identified as a suspect. Miller resides in Kingman but is believed to travel between Arizona and California.
Anyone with information on Miller's whereabouts is asked to contact the U.S. Postal Inspection Service at (928) 607-9281 or Mohave Silent Witness at (928) 753-1234.
