The wife jailed for helping her husband escape from custody has been placed under watch after a suicide attempt.

Mohave County Sheriff's Spokeswoman Trish Carter said jail officials were delivering meals to inmates Thursday night when they found 24-year-old Ashley Anne Morrison on the floor of her cell with a sheet wrapped around her neck.

She also reportedly had superficial cuts on her arms from a razor blade.

Morrison was conscious when she was found. She has since been placed under suicide watch and is being held in a padded cell while in a restraint jacket.

Morrison is charged with first-degree conspiracy to commit escape for allegedly plotting Darren Morrison's escape with him. Authorities allege she helped him by purchasing clothing, survival gear and possibly a gun, although it's not clear if Darren Morrison is now in possession of those items.

Ashley Morrison was arrested hours after her husband's escape after detectives reviewed jail phone conversations between the two. Ashley Morrison is the reported victim for a domestic violence assault for which Darren Morrison was originally jailed.

Darren Morrison has not been captured. He escaped from custody Wednesday as he was getting out of a transport van at the Mohave County Superior Courthouse. Investigators said that so far, they have been unable to determine how Morrison was able to free himself from the shackles around his hands and feet.

Surveillance footage of the escape shows Morrison getting out of the van before throwing the shackles down and taking off.
