A jury found a Kingman man not guilty Thursday of sexual assault.
The jury deliberated for about a day before acquitting Robert J. McIntosh, 27, of the assault of a 19-year-old former friend last September.
Police alleged after McIntosh's arrest that he and the woman were hanging out drinking when the woman said something that angered McIntosh. He then was said to have sexually assaulted the woman before giving her a ride home.
Prosecutor Victoria Stazio described the attack as brutal, but defense attorney Sandra Carr said there was simply no physical evidence to corroborate those claims and that the sex between the pair was consensual.
McIntosh served 10 months in the Mohave County Jail while awaiting trial. He remains jailed because of another case.
