First CAM BAM! event in Kingman scheduled for July 7

Goal is to raise funds for those seeking Complimentary Alternative Medicine

The first CAM BAM! event in Kingman is scheduled for July 7.

The goal is to raise funds to help provide financial support for individuals seeking Complimentary Alternative Medicine (CAM) health care, which includes chiropractic, acupuncture, hypnotherapy, massage therapy and other alternatives not covered by insurance.

The CAM BAM! is a 5k obstacle course that will be held at the Mohave Community College challenge course. The first 100 competitors will get a colorful T-shirt. A barbecue lunch and refreshments will be available after completing the event.

Packet pick-up is from 5 to 9 p.m. July 6 at the Dambar & Steakhouse. All entrants will be required to sign a medical waiver.

Individual registration fee is $40 for adults and $10 for children (12 years and younger) before June 1. The fee for adults is $60 and children $15 thereafter.

There are several levels of competition including:

• A-Level group for serious competitors;

• B-Level group for weekend warriors;

• C-Level group for casual competitors;

• Team competitions (a two-person team must collect a minimum of $250 in pledges and a 4-person team needs at least $500);

• Children's competition for 12 years and under.

Sponsorship opportunities are available for local businesses that would like to build or sponsor an obstacle.
