Traffic on U.S. 93 was slowed for about a half hour Monday afternoon while firefighters extinguished a brush fire in the median at milepost 65. Golden Valley Fire Chief Tom O'Donohue said that high temperatures, windy conditions and low humidity increase the danger of brush fires in the area. Mohave County has been under "red flag" warnings several times in the past month and burning restrictions are in effect. Firefighters suspect a mower cutting the grass in the median may have caused a spark that ignited this particular fire.
