Lance and Carree Garfield, of Kingman, wish to announce the engagement of their daughter, Mallory Garfield, of Kingman, to Shawn Turner, of Leslie County, Ky.
Mallory graduated from Kingman High School in 2005. She attended York College in York, Neb., for two years, and then transferred to Harding University in Searcy, Ark. She is in her fourth and final year of pharmacy school and will receive her doctorate of pharmacy in May.
Shawn graduated from Leslie County High School in 2005. He attended Freed-Hardeman University, in Henderson, Tenn., where he received his bachelor's degree in biochemistry, associate's degree in nursing, and his minor in Bible. He is in his third year of pharmacy school at Harding University, where he is also working towards his MBA. Shawn will graduate with his doctorate of pharmacy and MBA in May 2013.
Shawn surprised Mallory by proposing the day before their first year anniversary at Petit Jean State Park in Morrilton, Ark., where they had gone hiking with a group of their close friends. The couple is planning a wedding for June 2012 at Cumberland Falls State Resort Park in Kentucky. A reception will be held in Kingman following their honeymoon.
