Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Jack Edward Gillen III, 45, of Dolan Springs Feb. 25 for extreme DUI with a blood alcohol concentration over .20 percent, and exceeding 85 miles per hour. Deputies reportedly observed a motorcycle traveling approximately 90 miles per hour in a 35 mph zone. They also reportedly saw the motorcycle proceed from Higley Road across Highway 68 without stopping. Deputies conducted a traffic stop around 4:35 p.m. in the 4200 block of Shipp Drive and said they watched as the driver almost fall down as he got off the motorcycle. Deputies contacted the driver, identified as Gillen. During conversations with Gillen, he reportedly admitted to have been drinking. Following the field sobriety tests, Gillen was arrested and transported to the Mohave County Sheriff's Office, where an analysis revealed his blood alcohol concentration to be .281 percent. He was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail without incident. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Brian David Brown Jr., 23, of Kingman Feb. 25 for felony aggravated driving under the influence. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on two quads around 10:15 p.m. in the area of Carver Avenue and Melody Street. One of the drivers was identified as Brown. Deputies reportedly smelled an odor of alcohol on Brown. A records check showed that Brown's driver's license was suspended. Following the field sobriety tests, he was transported to the Mohave County Sheriff's Office, where an analysis revealed his blood alcohol concentration to be .154 percent. Brown was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail without incident. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Cody Walter Carey, 31, and Lita Ellen Morimoto, 54, both of Dolan Springs, on Feb. 26. Carey was arrested for theft of means of transportation and possession of stolen property, felonies. Morimoto was arrested for possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and taking contraband into a corrections facility, also felonies. Deputies took a report on Feb. 24 of a stolen Plymouth Voyager van taken from a residence in the 14800 block of Eureka Drive. Deputies observed a vehicle matching the description of the stolen van traveling on Pierce Ferry Road and conducted a traffic stop around 2:30 p.m. on 11th Street and Pierce Ferry Road. Deputies contacted Carey, the driver, and Morimoto the passenger. A computer check confirmed that the van was reported stolen. Carey and Morimoto were detained. Deputies reportedly found Morimoto to be in possession of a clear pipe and five small plastic bags containing a white crystal substance, which field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Both individuals were transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail without incident. Morimoto was also reportedly found to be in possession of eight narcotic pills and she was arrested on the additional charge.
