FLAGSTAFF (AP) - A federal judge has denied a request from a Las Vegas developer to keep a northwestern Arizona tribe from condemning his contractual rights to the Grand Canyon Skywalk.
U.S. District Judge David Campbell ruled Monday that the Hualapai Tribe did not act in bad faith in asserting tribal jurisdiction over the case. Campbell says that David Jin first must exhaust remedies in tribal court and issued a stay in the federal case.
An attorney for Jin says he'll challenge the ruling.
A spokesman for the tribe says the ruling clearly shows that tribal court is the proper venue.
The two sides have been locked in a dispute over a 2003 revenue-sharing and management contract.
The tribe has since cut Jin out of the contract, which he claims violates his constitutional rights.
