Mohave County blade trucks will be working their normal routes this week. The Meadview blade will be repairing shoulders and filling potholes working south from the downtown area.

Road crews will also be repairing shoulders and sweeping roads in the Butler area. They will also be sealing cracks in Cheyenne Meadows. Workers will be repairing potholes east of Kingman and performing shoulder work in Valle Vista.

Workers will also be repairing potholes on Oatman Road in the area of Sitgreaves Pass.


Sounds of Kingman has announced dates for its second season of concerts in the park.

All concerts will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. at Metcalf Park on the corner of Beale Street and Grandview Avenue.

Scheduled performances include Buffalo Nickle on April 15, Monkey Biz'nezz on May 6 and Aces on June 3.

Concerts are free and blankets, lawn chairs and coolers are encouraged.


Motorists may find two downtown streets closed this week. Fourth Street will be closed at the railroad crossing Monday and Tuesday. Second Street will be closed at its railroad crossing on Wednesday. Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad is closing the streets to work on the tracks.


There will be one less candidate to vote for in the District 4 Supervisors race. Democrat Jack Ehrhardt dropped out of the race after being promoted to planning and project manager for the Hualapai Tribe's Grand Canyon Resort Corporation.
