KINGMAN - Two men were indicted by a grand jury last week on first-degree murder charges in connection with the death of a man whose body was discovered in a car last July.

John Langan, 32, and Russell Shields, 41, were arrested about a month after the body of 28-year-old Alberto Orozco was found, but at that time they were only charged with abandoning a body, tampering with physical evidence and hindering prosecution.

Orozco was found dead from a single gunshot wound in the passenger seat of a relative's car that had been parked between Lomali and Clark streets on Beverly Avenue July 18.

According to court documents, Shields allegedly admitted to being present when Orozco was shot. He also reportedly admitted to power-washing a garage where the shooting occurred and then picking Langan up after Langan dropped off the car with Orozco's body inside.

Investigators believe that Orozco was killed at a residence in the 3200 block of N. Apache Street during a dispute with Langan and Shields.
