Annual Fishing Derby slated to start Friday

KINGMAN - The Kingman Firefighters Association and the United Professional Firefighters of Kingman Local 4191 will host the 23rd annual overnight fundraising Fishing Derby at South Cove on Lake Mead Friday through Saturday.

Any two- or three-person team can fish together in the derby, which has several cash prizes. Cost is $80 for a two-person team or $100 for a three-person team and is cash only this close to event day.

The tournament starts at 4 p.m. Friday and ends at 3 p.m. Saturday, with an awards banquet to follow at the Meadview residence of Fred and Carol Proudfoot, who started the derby.
