KINGMAN - A $1.2 million project to preserve the roadway surface on State Route 66 from Mohave Airport Drive to Hackberry Road will begin May 7, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
The project will include application of a protective chip seal layer, followed by an application of liquid asphalt to seal the new surface. Construction will begin at Mohave Airport Drive, and continue eastbound as crews work on a three-mile segment of the roadway each day. This work is scheduled for completion by May 22.
Work hours are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Traffic will be restricted to one lane through the work zone.
Drivers can expect delays of up to 15 minutes. Permanent lane striping and installation of pavement markers are scheduled June 25 through mid-July.
