Kingman Letters: One Christian's testimony

Believing that many people in our area would want to experience the love of God, if only they knew how, I share how Jesus Christ came into my life, changed me, and sustains my faith in Him as I often read the Bible.

After high school, a friend invited me to a Christian church. I went and heard from the Bible about God's love for sinful humanity. Weeks later, I asked God to show me He loved me and He did in an undeniable way. Consequently I put my trust in Christ's blood sacrifice on the cross as the complete substitute for my sins to satisfy the justice of God, whereby Christ rescued me from the sentence of hell and secured a place for me in heaven with Himself and God the Father.

When I gave my life to Christ, in a moment, by a miracle, He made me a new person with confidence in His love for me and confidence that He is God the Son - it was not a process, it was a miracle. Thirty-five years later, I still delight in following Christ, and Christ continues to give me a friendship with Himself and with God the Father. Christ keeps on giving me a heart that wants to trust, obey, and honor Him, in my thoughts, words, and deeds, to bring pleasure to this God who has been so merciful to me.

Although I know I daily fail to obey all of God's commandments, I know I am eternally rescued by trusting in Christ alone for all my righteousness. Christ is so awesome and wonderful to know and experience. If you want to experience Christ, read the New Testament with the eyes of a child. For Christian fellowship, I currently attend First Southern Baptist Church. Before I knew God, I was without God and without hope in this world, but now I have both.
