Fire officials responded to another brush fire Wednesday morning, making three brush fires this week in the Kingman area. This time, the fire broke out in the 5900 block of North Highway 66 around 9:50 a.m. Northern Arizona Consolidated Fire District Chief Pat Moore said the fire had spread from the property it originally started on and was threatening a wooden fence and neighboring homes. Firefighters extinguished the fire after about 10 minutes. No other structures or exposures were threatened or involved and no injuries were reported during the emergency. The fire was determined to have started from an individual burning weeds and spread from the original burning area due to the high wind speeds. Residents are reminded that burning is not currently permitted due to the high fire danger and red flag conditions.
