A big thank you to the Filipino-American fundraiser (Pioneer) group for their generous donations of time, food and money. Pictured (from left) are: Emy Jones, Leni Freeman, Nilda Cox, Edith Weyh, Father Matthew Krempel, Mila Cenquigrana, Armi Davies, Wilma Walker, Bhing Kongkol, Miles Bauman and Myrna Hornback (front row). Not pictured are: Mona Cabanilla, Hennie Ogle, Adela Read, Catalina Kinneth, Angie Valmonte, Lydia Sheappeard, Gladys Fagaly, Pilar Stubbs, Mila Pitrowski, Maria Kirste, Irene Duccini and Linda Grommon. As a result of the month-long effort, the group was able to sell 285 tickets amounting to $5,700. The total expenses in the amount of $1,522 were deducted (DJ-karaoke, party supplies, prizes, building fee, etc.). The total of $4,178 was donated to St. Mary's Catholic Church specifically for its building fund. Armi Davies decided and pledged to donate the $1,522 afterwards for the building fund, so the St. Mary's Catholic Church will actually be getting the total of $5,700. This is the second pledge. She already met her first pledge eight years ago. On behalf of the group, thank you to those who purchased tickets, and who have supported this group and the St. Mary's Catholic Church.
