Kingman Letter: Thanks for supporting the Kingman Parks & Rec Fall Festival Oct. 27

Thank you to all who supported the Kingman Parks & Rec Fall Festival Oct. 27.

We want to thank all of the sponsors, volunteers and staff who helped make this year's Fall Festival the great success it was. The event was financially sponsored and supported by Taco Bell-Desert De Ore Foods, Preston Investments, Wells Fargo Bank, Just for Kids Dentistry, Kingman Daily Miner, Cascade Tissue Company, The Tomlin Family, Venture Club of Kingman, True Value Distribution Center, Little Debbie's-McKee Foods, American Woodmark, Arizona Sign Company, Safeway and Olan Mills Portrait Studios. Money donated provided prizes for our costume contest and pie eating contest winners. The event also included 20 free game booths with candy, candy in the hay, a cupcake walk, hayrides, jump houses, pumpkin rolling, arts and crafts, and many great prizes.

This event took over 60 volunteers and staff members to make the day's activities run successfully. We would like to thank all that gave time to make the event great - we truly appreciate your assistance.

Congratulations to the winners of the costume contest and thank you to our three judges: Kathy Helton, Sydney Bailey and Jean Meersman. Also, thank you to Vice Mayor Janet Watson for handing out the prizes and announcing the winners.

We want to thank all those teachers who gave their students the coloring sheets for our Halloween Coloring Contest and the children who participated. We received approximately 2,000 coloring sheets from students in kindergarten through fifth grade and awarded three students in each grade.

Thanks to the Optimist Club for running the concession area, all proceeds go to the City of Kingman Youth Instructional Basketball to help keep the cost for participants down.

Also, thanks to R&R Jumps for donating two bounce houses for the day.

This was the sixth year Kingman hosted the Fall Festival. It will continue to do so with the help of great people. This year's event had approximately 2,500 people attend throughout the day.

Once again thank you to all of the volunteers, sponsors, staff, and to those who participated in the activities.
