Motorcycle wreck kills one Monday night

A 19-year-old Kingman man was ticketed but is not expected to be criminally charged following an automobile accident that killed a 43-year-old man early Monday evening.

Jimmy Wayne Boblett Jr. died after being airlifted to Sunrise Medical Center in Las Vegas following the accident on Gordon Drive at Powell Avenue just after 6 p.m.

Kingman Police Capt. Rusty Cooper said Shawn M. Marcus was eastbound on Gordon in a 1998 Ford Ranger truck when he turned left into the path of a Yamaha motorcycle driven by Boblett.

Boblett, who was wearing a helmet, was semi-conscious at the scene, according to Kingman Fire Battalion Chief Bill Johnston.

Marcus was cited for failure to yield but no additional charges are expected, Cooper said. He added that there is no indication of drug or alcohol impairment for either party.
