Stetson Winery and Event Center's open house continues from noon to 4 p.m. today. The tasting room and event center is located in Valle Vista at 10965 Moonscape Way. Stetson features a 40-foot tasting bar, custom wine barrels by a local artisan, relaxed seating and gift items. The outdoor space is still under construction and will soon have a pavilion, 130-foot veranda and a patio with a large wood-burning fireplace. Wine will be available for purchase by the glass or bottle. Because the vines were planted in April and are not yet mature, the winery is currently buying juice and wine from Eric Glomski of Page Springs Cellars (which provided the official wines for the Arizona Centennial celebration). A chardonnay, a blended red, a merlot and a cabernet are available. Stetson will host weddings, anniversaries and other celebrations on their 15-acre property. Hours will normally be from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday-Saturday and noon-4 p.m. Sunday. Among their staff is Wade Stephens, a sommelier (a professional with extensive knowledge of wine from a world perspective). For more information, call 928-757-7206 or visit www.stetsonwinery.com.
