Money fight led to shooting

A 30-year-old Kingman man was arrested for shooting his roommate in a reported dispute over bills.

Kingman Police Capt. Rusty Cooper said officers went to the 2800 block of N. Melody Street around 8:45 p.m. Sept. 23 after receiving a report of shots being fired.

Officers found a 25-year-old man inside the home who had been shot once in the shoulder with a handgun. He was taken to Kingman Regional Medical Center.

The suspect, Mathew Alan Morris, was found walking down the street a short time later. He was booked into the Mohave County Jail on a felony charge of aggravated assault by domestic violence.

Cooper said the argument was reportedly about money and sharing bills.
