About 1,500 people attended this year's Walk Away From Drugs and Keep Kingman Safe Public Safety Expo, which was held Wednesday at Centennial Park. More than 2,000 hot dogs and 2,000 bottles of water and soda were consumed. The walk had three components, and each one was led by an honor guard provided by the MTC prison, the Mohave County Sheriff's Office and the Kingman Police Department. Several public officials attended, including Kingman Mayor John Salem, state Rep. Doris Goodale, Department of Public Safety Capt. Ron DeLong, Kingman Academy of Learning District Administrator Susan Chan, Kingman Police Chief Bob DeVries and Kingman Police Captain Scott Wright.
