Home cooking was mighty tasty for the Lady Knights. Sara Stowers got her fourth state tournament qualifying score and Bailey O'Neill her third during a four-team, nine-hole match at the Courses at London Bridge Golf Club Thursday.

O'Neill was the match medalist, shooting a 7-over 43. Stowers was right behind with a 44.

Players need five scores to qualify for the state tournament. Lake Havasu has already qualified one player - Kursten Barrett, who finished the day third for the Lady Knights with a 51. Cassidy Flenner was next with a 56 and Jordan Savage, playing her first varsity match, finished with a 69.

Havasu finished with a 194 to beat Kingman by five strokes. Yuma Kofa finished with 258. Bekah Van Kirk and Mariah Sammeli led the Lady Bulldogs, both of whom finished with a 47 - two strokes over a qualifying score. Taylor Stephens followed with a 50, Connie Peterson shot a 55 and Brianna Peterson finished with a 56.

Van Kirk is sitting on four scores and needs a fifth to join Barrett in the postseason. She has three at her home course - the maximum allowed under Arizona Interscholastic Association rules - which is why Lake Havasu and Kingman are talking about moving Monday's match between the two teams from Cerbat Cliffs Golf Course in Kingman to the Courses at London Bridge Golf Club in Lake Havasu City.

"If that can help Bekah qualify, I'm all for it," Kosters said. "Plus maybe we can get Sara qualified and get Bailey closer too. It's good to see Bailey swing with that confidence."
