Authorities responded to an early morning rollover accident on Route 66 Tuesday only to find that the driver had already left the scene.
Officers with the Arizona Department of Public Safety investigated the crash, which was reported just before 5:30 a.m. and occurred at mile marker 65 between Kingman and Valle Vista.
It's not clear which direction the truck was headed. DPS officials said the truck drifted off the right side of the road, overcorrected to the left and then rolled two and half times. It's also not clear if that account was based on evidence at the scene or witness statements.
Driver fatigue is suspected as the cause given the time the crash occurred, although the fact the driver ran does not rule out the possibility of alcohol involvement, authorities said.
