I'm not sure if I am in the right area regarding my thanks, but I feel this should be publicly noted. I have been a waitress for many years and am rarely shown the appreciation I feel I deserve, as I always try my best to set myself apart from the oh-so-common "poor service" associated with our town and their restaurants.
I had waited on a table of five this afternoon at the Mexican food establishment where I am employed. They were wearing cowboy hats and spoke to me like I was a human being as opposed to just a slave of sorts... yes please, ma'am, no thank you, ma'am. They happened to be one of the most polite and understanding tables I have had the privilege of waiting on lately.
Well, they very graciously tipped me over 50 percent of their bill and I hadn't the chance of noticing until after they left because I was a little behind. All I want is to say thank you! I truly appreciate it and I hope to pay it forward. It's people like them who make me smile and feel appreciated in what I do and why I continue to work hard.
The little things are what matter and I wish people felt more like they could grasp that. You get what you put in and all that. Simply put again, thank you. You made my day!
