Arizona Wounded Warriors: On Saturday, Sept. 1, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Hualapai Aeries 3744 held a carnival-type fundraiser event. Brian S. represented over 300 Arizona Wounded Warriors. Everyone got a chance to shake his hand and share their love for all our soldiers. He was honored by the Marine Corps honor guard and the Kingman Firemen's bagpipes. A special thanks goes out to John and Stacey Daker as they made sure this event had all the bells and whistles any fundraiser could have. Deep appreciation and thanks goes to John and Roxane Mazurkiewicz, who managed a very successful poker run and prize drawing. The kids were overjoyed with their own 40-foot swimming pool, dunk tank, jump house, slide and other games. A variety of dogs looking for good homes was brought by the Humane Society and Mutt Matchers. A spaghetti dinner on Friday evening was followed by the weekly dance, and on Sunday, a wonderful breakfast buffet was served. Hot dogs and hamburgers were available throughout the event. There were prize drawings and trophies for a number of contests and live music by top bands brought the house down. All proceeds from this first Injured Soldiers fundraiser will go to the Arizona Wounded Warriors Project in Phoenix.
