Unlicensed Dolan dove hunters arrested

Two Dolan Springs men were cited for weapons offenses after authorities said they were dove hunting too close to homes.

Dove hunters have to be at least a quarter-mile away from an occupied structure, a fact the men were unaware of because neither was licensed, according to Mohave County Sheriff's spokeswoman Trish Carter.

Denzel Darrell Tucker Jr., 48, and Douglas Jay Kloepfer, 50, both of Dolan Springs, were arrested Wednesday after deputies received a report around 5 p.m. of a gun being fired in the area of Ironwood Drive.

The men were reportedly dove hunting near an abandoned trailer that was close to other homes.

Both men were charged with felony disorderly conduct with a weapon, while Tucker was additional charged with possession of a weapon by a prohibited person.
