Betty M. Walker, 86, of Kingman passed away at the Garden's Rehabilitation and Care Center on Monday, Sept. 17, 2012. She was the wife of the late Lester B. Walker of Pennsylvania.
Betty was born on May 31, 1926, in Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late John Johnson and the late Ruth (Granacher) Johnson Frable.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Johnson of Pennsylvania; and two stepdaughters, Phyllis Lown, formerly of Pennsylvania and Evelyn Higgenbotham, formerly of Arizona. She is survived by three children, Terry Bond of Tennessee, Sonya Osborne of Maryland and Friend Walker of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands; five stepchildren, Herbert Walker, William Walker, Mary E. Britton, Suzanne Ciscoe and Andrew (Ted) Walker, all of Pennsylvania; and three sisters, Gwen Seese of Pennsylvania, Lynn Aarhus of Nebraska and Virginia Adams of Pennsylvania. She had many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Betty lived much of her life in Pennsylvania, New York, Florida and Tennessee. She relocated to Arizona in 2009. During her life she was active in the Republican Party and several local churches. She was employed as a hostess for Holiday Inn Restaurants in Stuart, Fla., and Dickson, Tenn., and a custodian for the Assembly of God in Hamlin, Pa.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, at the Gardens Assisted Living Center.
