Thank you to the Kingman Elks for the chess tournament they hosted on March 23.
This is the 19th year they have done so. There were 141 competitors, ranging in age from first to eighth grade, who each played five games. There were many Elks on hand to facilitate the event. They prepared and sold hamburgers, hotdogs, sodas, and chips for everyone and fed the coaches at no charge.
A special thank you to Gale Clark, who was there before any of us to unlock the doors and be sure everything ran smoothly. They have always been gracious and accommodating, and they genuinely seem to enjoy having this annual event at their lodge. Your time and efforts are greatly appreciated!
