The Arizona Department of Transportation will close Interstate 40 in both directions just west of Kingman twice on Thursday to install an overhead electronic sign. The first closure will be at 7:30 a.m. and the second closure will be at 9 a.m. The closures are expected to last 30 minutes.
In addition, lane restrictions will be required throughout the day. From 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., the eastbound right lane will be closed intermittently. Lane closures will last approximately 30 minutes and law enforcement will be on site to assist drivers.
The electronic sign will span the width of the roadway and will be used to keep drivers informed of traffic, road and weather conditions. For more information, email ADOT at email@example.com or call the agency's Project Hotline toll-free at (855) 712-8530.
