On Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, our beloved mother and grandmother, Betty Evelyn (Bledsoe) Piper, passed away peacefully at the age of 83.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Lynn Bledsoe, and twin brother, Bobbie Bledsoe. Her husband, James Stanley Piper, joined her on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013.
She is survived by her sisters, Mary Rodgers, July Bailey and Jane Davis; her daughter, Marilyn Elizabeth Piper-Seybold; son-in-law, Hans Seybold; son, James Scott Piper; daughter-in-law, Lorena Ramos Piper; and grandchildren, Traci Slack, James Sean Piper and Kristina Lea Piper; and great-grandson, Jared Stuart.
Betty was born on Feb. 4, 1930, in Dyersburg, Tenn. After raising her children, Betty pursued a career in civil service as a systems analyst.
She retired and moved to Kingman from San Diego in 2004, where she built a home and brightened our lives with her kindness and charm.
Whether as a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt or friend, Betty loved and was loved deeply by all.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14, in Dyersburg, Tenn., at Curry Funeral Home.
