KINGMAN - Professional Research Consultants has honored the Kingman Regional Medical Center Cancer Center with four National Excellence in Healthcare Awards for quality patient care.

On June 3, the KRMC Cancer Center was presented with four Five-Star Awards at PRC's 2013 convention in Orlando. The Five-Star Award honors health care organizations that score above 90 percent of their peers in the number of excellent ratings given by patients within specific categories.

Three of the awards recognized the KRMC Cancer Center's high patient ratings in medical oncology, radiation oncology and outpatient care. The fourth Five-Star Award honored the center for overall quality of care.

These awards are in addition to the four PRC awards garnered by the center last year, which included PRC's highest honor, the Top Performer award, which recognized KRMC as the top-performing cancer treatment provider among PRC's clients nationwide.

More than 680 patients were served at the KRMC Cancer Center last year. The center features advanced cancer treatment technologies and a skilled multi-disciplinary oncology team for treating most types of cancer, including complex and advanced-stage cases.

Additionally, the center offers a wide range of support services to assure patients' overall emotional and physical well-being before, during and after cancer treatment.

PRC is a national health care research organization that conducts patient satisfaction surveys to evaluate more than 2,000 hospitals and health care organizations nationwide.
