VFW Post 10386 held a ceremony commemorating Pearl Harbor Day on Saturday featuring a flag raising, displays and speakers, including Pearl Harbor veteran and local resident Art Dias. Dias, 89, who was a Marine, went to Pearl Harbor one week after the attack happened as part of the MAC Squadron 13. He says he flew former President Georg H.W. Bush's father over the area. Dias earned a Purple Heart while serving his country, but has felt blessed all his life. He said he has no complaints but he does wish that the nurses who cared for the soldiers would receive more recognition for all they did. Top: The VFW Color Guard raises flags Saturday morning.
