Students at Kingman Academy of Learning High School and Intermediate Schools put on a canned food drive for the Elks Lodge recently. On Thursday, members of the Elks Lodge visited the schools to pick up the food, which will go to families in need during the holiday season. At KAOL Intermediate, students brought in nearly 2,000 cans of food and the high school brought in nearly 900 cans of food, enough to fill 126 baskets. Jim Gaily, public relations officer for the Lodge, personally thanked the class representatives. "I want you to know how important this is. Your actions have made it possible to feed 126 families who wouldn't have anything like this otherwise. This is the true spirit of Christmas. We appreciate it." He said that KAOL schools have been involved with the Elks Christmas program for eight years and the support is greatly appreciated.
