Oxycodone

On Dec. 13, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Sonny Hugh Fairbanks, 34, on a felony charge of possession of narcotics and three misdemeanor warrants for contempt of court. Two warrants were issued by Kingman Municipal Court and Lake Havasu Consolidated Court issued the third. Deputies stopped a vehicle in which Fairbanks was a passenger in the 3300 block of Northern Avenue at about 8:15 p.m. A record check revealed the warrants and a search while he was taken into custody allegedly revealed Fairbanks was in possession of 22 oxycodone pills. He was taken into custody without incident.

Anonymous tip

On Dec. 14, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Brett James Pinnell, 20, of Bullhead City, on a felony probation violation warrant. Deputies received an anonymous tip that Pinnell was at a residence in the 3500 block of John L. Avenue. Deputies responded and the occupant allowed them entry. Pinnell was located in a bedroom and taken into custody without incident.

'A strong odor'

On Dec. 15, Mohave County deputies arrested Joy Larae Bell, 38, of Kingman, on felony charges of possession of marijuana, possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputies reportedly smelled a "strong odor of marijuana" when they stopped a vehicle Bell was driving in the 3900 block of Thompson Avenue at about 11:15 a.m. Bell exited the vehicle and reportedly told deputies she had marijuana. Pot and a glass pipe were allegedly found in her purse. A search of the vehicle allegedly revealed Bell was also in possession of methamphetamine. She was taken into custody without incident.

Man pointing gun

On Dec. 15, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Vincent Nicholas Demarco, 46, on a felony charge of disorderly conduct with a weapon. Deputies responded to a residence in the 2100 block of Snavely Avenue regarding a report of a motorcyclist who was pointing a gun at people just after noon. Deputies contacted Demarco in an alley in the area and he was reportedly in possession of a .22-caliber pistol. The red motorcycle he was on was registered to him. He was taken into custody without incident.

Firefighter assaulted

On Dec. 15, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Amanda Rene Lahoua Garcia, 26, of Kingman on a felony charge of aggravated assault on a firefighter and three misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct per domestic violence, assault per domestic violence and a probation violation warrant issued by Kingman Municipal Court. Deputies responded to a disturbance call in the 2600 block of Snavely Avenue at about 6:25 p.m. Garcia's brother reportedly told deputies that Garcia was hitting people at the residence before she left the home. The brother also told deputies his sister had a warrant for her arrest. Deputies found Garcia hiding in a utility easement. A records check revealed the warrant. Garcia reportedly became combative after being placed in custody and repeatedly hit her head against the patrol vehicle. Paramedics with one of the local fire departments were called to treat her for a bump and scratch on her forehead and Garcia reportedly spat on one of them and hit him in the chest and arm. She was ultimately taken into custody.

(Former) employee theft

On Dec. 15, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Brittney Irene Franz, 22, on a felony charge of theft.

The alleged crime occurred on Nov. 29, when deputies responded to a business in the 4400 block of Bank Street where Franz had worked. The owner told deputies Franz left a note stating she took the money and that she knew she would be fired. The owner decided he would prosecute her, as well. She was spotted traveling south on Stockton Hill Road at about 8:30 p.m. and was taken into custody at Northern Avenue and Glen Road. Franz reportedly admitted to taking the money. She was taken into custody without incident.

Dangerous drugs

On Dec. 16, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Nicole Daniele Green, 38, and Karma Leeann Jones, 44, both of Kingman. Green was arrested on a felony warrant regarding possession of dangerous drugs issued by Kingman Justice Court and for a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended license. Jones was charged with possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana, all felonies. Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle call in the 2600 block of Thompson Avenue regarding a two-tone Dodge Dakota pickup. A truck matching the description was stopped at Thompson Avenue and Roosevelt Street. A record check revealed the warrant and the suspended license and she was taken into custody. Jones reportedly produced a glass pipe used for smoking methamphetamine and she was taken into custody. On the way to the jail, Green advised she had other drugs in her possession, and that Jones asked her to hold them for her. Jones reportedly admitted the drugs were hers. Both women were taken into custody without incident.

Possession of drugs

On Dec. 19, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Kandice Eva Majko, 31, of Kingman, for felony possession of marijuana, possession of dangerous drugs, and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. At 8 a.m., deputies observed Majko riding a bicycle opposing traffic in the area of Norrie & John L. avenues. Deputies stopped Majko to issue her a warning for this violation and during this contact Majko appeared extremely nervous. When asking if she had any drugs on her person, Majko allegedly admitted to having drugs in her purse. A search of her purse revealed baggies with marijuana and methamphetamine, as well as two glass pipes. Majko was arrested without incident and booked into the Mohave County jail.
