Cherrie Lynn DeLong was born Oct. 10, 1966 in Kingman. She passed away Dec. 16, 2013 at the age of 47, in Kingman. She is survived by her grandmother, Alice Bickel; mother, JoAnn Richmond; stepfather, Jerry Richmond; brother, John Wayne DeLong; and uncles, Ron DeLong and William Earnshaw. She is also survived by many cousins.

Cherrie was raised in Kingman, and lived most of her life here. She was an out-going and vivacious person with a witty sense of humor that could make you laugh at the everyday simple things in life. She loved people and always helped wherever she could, many times sacrificially.

Previously never having any medical problems, this past year she fought cancer with determination and courage, but was unable to overcome its many inextricable tangles and complications.

The family is grateful to Dr. Naegele for all her support and kindness, also to Cherrie's four roommates who helped with her daily needs and took care of her this past year.

She now sleeps pain free, waiting for the Lord to call her back to life when He returns (John 5:28 and Ecclesiastes 9:5,6,10).

The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Jan. 4 at the Kingman Seventh-day Adventist Church on White Cliff's Road. Light refreshments to follow.
