Julia D. Torres, 87, of Kingman passed away Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013. She was born Feb. 16, 1925, in Phoenix and moved to Kingman when she was 6.
Julia retired from Kingman Regional Medical Center and also worked and volunteered at Manzanita Elementary School.
Julia was preceded in death by her mother, Maria Banegas; her husband, Octaviano P. Torres; and her daughter, Rose Olivarria.
Julia "Nana" is survived by her loving family, her daughter, Jennie Meins and her son, Paul "Chapo" Torres (Alfonsina). Nana was also blessed with five grandchildren, Jerry Meins (Lisa), Michael Meins (Andrea), and Michelle, Rachel and Raquel Torres, and six great-grandchildren, Ciara, Anita, Casey and Justin Meins, and Devin and Halle Jackson.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home, 1701 Sycamore Ave, Kingman, with rosary at 6 p.m.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 302 E. Spring St., followed by interment at Mountain View Cemetery, 1301 Stockton Hill Road.
A celebration of life will follow, location to be announced at the services.
