Hualapai School held its annual Hualapai Spelling Bee in December. The first-place winner was fourth-grader Kaiona Bautista. Kaiona will represent the school at the Mohave County Spelling Bee and compete next to all of the champions from each elementary school in Mohave County. The runner-up was fifth-grader Emily Byrne, who will attend the Mohave County Spelling Bee as an alternate. As the spelling bee came to an end, the two finalists humbly congratulated each other for giving their best effort. Hualapai School would like to congratulate all of the spelling bee participants for doing their personal best in preparing for the bee. Their determination and hard work is what makes each year's bee a success. The school would also like to thank its volunteer judges and hosts.
