Assistant Golden Valley Fire Chief Dave Martin watches as Firefighter Kimber & Engineer-Paramedic Rob Arnold extricate a man trapped inside his Chevy Tahoe following an accident on Highway 68 Thursday morning. Firefighters and paramedics treat the driver of the Lincoln in the background. Officials said witnesses told them the Lincoln Sedan struck the driver side of the Chevy Tahoe, trapping the Tahoe driver inside. The driver of the Lincoln was transported Code-3 to Kingman Regional Medical Center as a Level-1 trauma, and the driver of the Tahoe who was extricated via the Jaws of Life was transported to KRMC. Highway 68 remained partially blocked for over an hour while Department of Public Safety and Mohave County Sheriff's units diverted traffic to allow firefighters to extricate the victims and remove the damaged vehicles. Golden Valley Fire officials caution motorists to look twice before proceeding across high speed intersections.
