KINGMAN - A man who told deputies he fired his rifle into the air to remember a friend who died was arrested Tuesday morning on a felony charge of disorderly conduct with a weapon.
Jeffrey Adam Beauchamp, 29, of Kingman was taken into custody without incident at about 2 a.m. after deputies responded to his home in the 4300 block of Shadow Drive. Deputies responded when a caller complained of loud music. Two other callers reported hearing gunshots in the area.
Beauchamp reportedly admitted he fired the gun "in remembrance of a friend" and that he fired into the air in a direction that was uninhabited.
Deputies confiscated the rifle and took Beauchamp into custody without incident.
