Letter: Too many abandoned animals

What is wrong with our society/community?

The last few months have been horrible for abandoned pets. What is wrong with a society that discards live pets in Dumpsters, washes, or throws them out into the desert?

We have rescued five puppies in a box maybe a week old from a campground.

We have saved eight puppies only two days old, found in a wash in the Butler area on the bare ground.

And we have been called to retrieve a small dog tied to another small dog (that had already perished) from a Dumpster near I-40 and Stockton Hill Road. Nobody will ever know how long they had been there.

Finding dogs and puppies in any desert area is almost a common scenario.

I will never understand why people have become so cruel and nefarious to the most innocent creatures entrusted to our care. And it takes a community to help prevent these cruelties when witnessed.

We can wash the blood of innocent animals off our hands, but we cannot wash innocent blood off our souls.

Since Help Animals' Lives Today is not funded by any source, we would truly beg you to save more lives with your membership and contributions, because they all have medical needs to adhere to.

Please feel free to join us in our efforts to save more lives.
