AMARGOSA VALLEY, Nev. (AP) - Four people died in a fiery wrong-way crash in Nye County over the weekend, and Nevada authorities are still working to positively identify the victims.
Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Jeremie Elliott says there was little left of the bodies and the vehicles after what he called a violent collision around 11 p.m. Sunday.
Elliott said the person driving a Buick the wrong way on U.S. 95 was killed, along with an adult and two minors in a Toyota van.
Elliott said the van is from the Kingman area and officials are "pretty positive" they know who was inside.
The crash happened about 10 miles from the community of Amargosa Valley, and about five miles from the nearest fire station. Elliott says the remoteness of the crash may have affected the response time.
