KHS's Kamin qualifies for 300 hurdles finals

KINGMAN - Kingman High's Darian Kamin has qualified for Saturday's 300-meter hurdles finals at the Division I track meet at Mesa Community College.

Kamin qualified Wednesday night with a time of 39.44 seconds - good enough for the eighth spot in the finals. Phoenix Brophy Prep's Robert Grant took the top spot with at time of 37.80 seconds.

Kamin failed to qualify in the finals of the 110-meter hurdles, finishing 22nd with a time of 16.51. He needed a 15.19 in order to make it to Saturday's race.

Cristian Gutierrez finished sixth in the discus with a throw of 150 feet, 11 inches. Phoenix Desert Vista's Dylan Fischer won the competition with a throw of 181 feet, 8 inches.

In addition to Kamin's 300-meter hurdle final, Gutierrez will be competing in shot put and Amber Tackett will be competing in discus.

Lee Williams' Giancarlo Narvarte will be competing in the high jump.
