Judy Mae Allen, 92, passed away peacefully on Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, in Kingman. At the time of her passing, she was en route to a reunion dinner and was surrounded by family.

She spent her early life in Indiana, where she met her first husband, Ethan "Bus" Allen, while attending Ball State University. They had two children in Indiana, Cheri and Carol, before moving to southern California, where they had their third, Michael.

Judy began her career as a bookkeeper before becoming a medical secretary for the county of San Bernardino, where she worked until her retirement. She was also a lifelong member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Orange Blossom Chapter.

No stranger to adventure and a good time, she had a penchant for country music, dancing and time in the sun. But when the chips were down, she knew how to step up and take the lead.

Above all, she was a consummate matriarch and will always be remembered as our iron butterfly.

Her first husband, Ethan, preceded her in death, as did her second husband, Bill, and her son, Michael. She is survived by her two daughters, Cheri and Carol; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and loving family. She lived a full life and will endure in our hearts forever.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 17 at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, 4045 N. Van Nuys Road in Kingman.
