Good neighbors

On Nov. 5, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Robert Allen Steed, 55, of Kingman on felony charges of burglary and trafficking in stolen property. Deputies responded to a burglary call in the 3500 block of Hearne Avenue at about 11 a.m. The caller, a 38-year-old man, told deputies his neighbors advised him that a truck was in his yard and items were being loaded. He said when he returned home that a swamp cooler, fence posts, bunk bed frames and a table base were missing. Based on a vehicle description provided by neighbors, deputies contacted local recycling centers and learned a man had scrapped items the victim confirmed were his. Deputies responded to a home in the 3500 block of Canary Lane and observed an older pickup that matched witness descriptions. Steed reportedly admitted he took the items, saying two people told him the property was abandoned. He said he never entered the residence and acknowledged that people still own abandoned properties. He was taken into custody without incident.

Window climber

On Nov. 5, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Robert Glen Palmer, 37, on a felony failure to appear warrant issued by Mohave County Superior Court. The warrant was discovered after a neighbor called 911 to report a burglary at Palmer's home. The man spotted entering the home through a window was Palmer, who told deputies his front door was broken and he had no other way to enter the home. He was taken into custody without incident.

Drugs not theft

On Nov. 5, Kingman Police officers arrested Carolyn M. Nash, 37, of Kingman on felony charges of possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police responded to a shoplifting call in the 3400 block of Stockton Hill Road at about 4:10 p.m. They considered Nash the possible suspect. She wasn't involved in the shoplifting incident, but a search revealed she allegedly possessed illicit drugs that were not identified, and drug paraphernalia that also was not identified in the report. She was taken into custody without incident.

Drugs and theft

On Nov. 6, Kingman Police officers arrested Nicholis K. O'Leary, 22, of Kingman on felony charges of shoplifting, trafficking in stolen property, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal trespass. Police responded to a shoplifting call in the 3300 block of Stockton Hill Road at about 3:50 p.m. O'Leary was identified a possible suspect. During the investigation, O'Leary was allegedly found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and stolen property shoplifted from a store in the 3800 block of Stockton Hill Rd earlier in the day. O'Leary allegedly admitted his involvement in the two shoplifting incidents.

Reach out ... fail

On Nov. 8, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Richard Lee Bass, 46, of Golden Valley on felony charges of possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, along with a misdemeanor charge of failure to comply with a court order per domestic violence. He also was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear issued by Kingman Municipal Court and a failure to pay fines warrant issued by Kingman Justice Court. Deputies learned from a 46-year-old woman that Bass allegedly violated a protective order she had against him when he called her on the telephone. He was contacted about 5 p.m. at a residence in the 3600 block of Aqua Fria and reportedly admitted he called the woman. A records check revealed the warrants and a search of Bass allegedly revealed a white crystal substance. He was taken into custody without incident.

Drug arrest

On Nov. 8, Kingman Police officers arrested Stonie M. Elder, 36, of Kingman on felony charges of possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as a misdemeanor warrant issued by Kingman Justice Court. Officers stopped Elder in the intersection of Fifth Street and Windsor Avenue at about 11 a.m. A record check revealed the warrant and a search allegedly revealed Elder possessed methamphetamine. She was taken into custody without incident.

Shotgun aimed

On Nov. 9, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Leanda Raye Hayden, 55, of Kingman on a felony charge of disorderly conduct with a weapon per domestic violence. Deputies responded to a disturbance call at a home in the 2300 block of Sierra Visa at about 8:15 a.m. The caller, a 33-year-old woman, told deputies that Hayden, her mother, came into her room and aimed a shotgun at her. Prior to the incident, according to the caller, an angry Hayden was slamming cupboards, knocking over plastic totes and calling her names. Deputies said Hayden claimed she never pointed the gun at her daughter, and that she was upset because the daughter, she said, was stealing from her. She was taken into custody without incident.

Dents in jail

On Nov. 9, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies charged Brett Wesley Altizer, 49, of Kingman with a felony count of jail destruction/injury to jail. Deputies responded to a report of criminal damage at the Mohave County jail at about 8:20 a.m. Detention officers told deputies that Altizer ripped a metal bar from under the sink area and used it to put dents in the metal sink and in the jail door.

Tagged & bagged

On Nov. 9, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Alisha Melinda Urie, 25, of Kingman on a felony charge of taking contraband into corrections facility, along with misdemeanor charges of shoplifting, false report to law enforcement and a failure to appear warrant issued by Kingman Justice Court. Deputies responded to a shoplifting report at a store in the 2930 block of Northern Avenue at about 1:55 p.m. The assistant manager told deputies he observed a woman cut tags off of merchandise and place the items into a backpack. Deputies contacted Urie and noted the pack was bulging. Urie falsely identified herself, they said, and was taken into custody and later identified. A record check revealed the warrant and a search of the backpack allegedly revealed stolen merchandise. Detention officers allegedly recovered a syringe when Urie was going through the booking process.

Glass grinder

On Nov. 10, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Jonathan Fredrick Covey, 40, of Golden Valley on a felony charge of possession of dangerous drugs. Deputies responded to a suspicious person call in the 3500 block of Teddy Roosevelt Road at about 8 p.m. They reportedly spotted Covey and observed him throw something on the ground and grind it under his shoe. Deputies retrieved the item on the ground and allege the items were a tin container holding a white crystal substance and a glass pipe. Covey was taken into custody without incident.

Search & arrest

On Nov. 10, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Jorden Kyle Reynolds, 23, a transient, on felony charges of possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputies contacted Reynolds at a residence in the 3000 block of Devlin Avenue regarding an unrelated incident at about 8:30 p.m. A search allegedly revealed Reynolds was in possession of several plastic bags containing a white powdery residue, which field-tested positive for methamphetamine and a glass pipe with residue. Reynolds was taken into custody without incident.

Jail weed

On Nov. 11, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies charged Emily Rose Grimes, 18, with a felony charge of promoting prison contraband and possession of marijuana. Deputies responded to the Mohave County jail regarding the incident at about 12:30 p.m. after detention officers alleged found her in possession of marijuana during the booking process.

Bicycle bust

On Nov. 12, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Joshua David Kirchner, 25, of Kingman on felony charges of possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, along with three misdemeanor warrants for contempt of court issued by Kingman Justice Court. Deputies contacted Kirchner, who was riding a bicycle without proper lights at Norrie Drive at Neal Avenue at about 11:30 p.m. A record check revealed the warrants and a search allegedly revealed Kirchner was in possession of a white crystal substance and a glass pipe with burnt residue. He was taken into custody without incident.
