Father, son arrested for Mohave County burglary

KINGMAN - A father and son were arrested on burglary charges Sunday after Mohave County Sheriff's deputies found them inside a home.

Jack Neal Thompson, 56, and Andrew Bishop Thompson, 17, were allegedly burglarizing a residence in the 2100 block of Butler Avenue at about noon.

Parked in front of the house was the elder Thompson's red pickup with a trailer. Deputies reportedly noted signs of forced entry and heard two male voices talking inside the home.

They conducted a high-risk entry and spotted one Thompson carrying a plastic box and the other behind a cabinet. Deputies ordered them outside. The younger Thompson fled as deputies took his father into custody. He made it about 75 yards before deputies caught him and placed him in custody after a brief struggle.

The homeowner reportedly told deputies nobody should be on the property.

Jack Thompson was charged with felony burglary and taken to jail. His son was charged with burglary and felony resisting arrest and booked into the juvenile detention center.
